Sister Day

My sisters and I get together once a month to have a fun day, sisters day. We have been doing this since my mom passed away so we can stay in touch. We usually go shopping, have lunch, site see, etc. Yesterday we went to the K. Spoetzl Brewery which is the oldest brewery in Texas. It is in a town about 8 miles from where I grew up and where my sisters live.
The Spoetzl brewery brews Shiner beers. A very famous beer named after the little town it's located in. I can't believe this little brewery continues to make every drop of Shiner beer right here in Shiner Texas.

Shiner is a cute little Texas town but I'm prejudice because I'm from Yoakum which is just a few miles away.  This area of Texas will always be close to my heart.

Shopping on the main street in Shiner Texas.

Who doesn't love to shop a little, and drink a little.

Project Deck Continued

Our deck project is still going full force. I'm so happy that the concrete was put in a lot sooner then expected. Yea!!!!
Next on the list is to get the deck man back over to finish the skirting, which includes the storage unit.
I love the stain on the concrete. It really turned out nice. A lot nicer then when I tried it at my old house.
There are so many decisions. I really don't want the deck builder to close in too much because we would like to utilize the bottom part for seating and entertaining. My fear is we will cut off the breeze. I don't like the look of the metal post and I dont' want to paint them either.  I"ll figure something out.

If Not Now When?

I did it!!!

I finally got the courage to dye my hair pink. Ok it's not the full dye job, but the next best thing. I have wanted to do this for a long time. If you follow me on Pinterest, you know I have a board totally dedicated to this secret fantasy. I have been collecting photos of pink hair to help me decide what I like.
I heard all the negative thoughts in my head keeping me from doing it like "You're too old!" or "What will people think?", or "What if it looks terrible?" But I did it anyway.
I love it. It's so much fun. I'm so glad I did it.
So here's to Pink!

You is Kind, You is smart, You is Important

Here is a doodle drawing from my journal. Lately all I've been doing is doodles. I love these famous  three lines form the movie "The Help".  Sometimes one needs these little reminders, so simple but important.

Cottontails

Cute Bunny
Sweet Bunny
These cute bunny's are all over our neighborhood and our backyard. I love watching them. The other evening I saw one run lickety split from my neighbors front yard to the backyard. It was being chased by a bobcat. Wow! I was on our deck and I think the cat heard me because she stopped and looked up at me for a long time. She sat on a rock staring at me. I called my husband to come out and look. She stayed on the rock long enough for him to see her. Then she meandered off as if nothing. We know it was a bobcat because of the short tail. She was very slick and lean. I'm guessing it was a girl because she was not huge....just looked more like a female. I guess I saved the poor bunny for a little while....bad, bad, bobcat!
