Something Pink!

This is my favorite pink house ever. It is in Port Aransas Texas. My husband and I always admire this house when we visit Port A, wondering who lives there and wishing we could own a place like this one day. I'm posting this for something pink for breast cancer awareness month. Sorry I'm late I know I should of done this Thursday but I was in Port Aransas. I took my computer with me this time but I could'nt upload my pictures. Long story which I do not want to get into.
We went on a mini vacay again to our favorite getaway. I feel so guilty and it did not help that I have a ton of work to do. It's not like I needed the rest but my husband did. The weather was in the 90's so we were able to go to the pool and relax. My husband played golf while I took pictures on the second day. I couldn't spend a lot of time on the beach because of the red tide. It really did not bother me except for a little cough. I guess the wind kept the smell of dead fish littered along the beach away because I did not smell a thing. I took some great shots of the golf course which is right on the beach. I'll post a few tomorrow.
I did not forget that today I draw the name of the winner of my giveaway. So without further adieu the winner of my Halloween card is Bunny! She is the owner of a fabulous blog "I'm Just Say'n". Now that I'm back in my chair and vacation number 4 is over, hopefully I'll get back on my creative stroll.

FREE Halloween Digital Collage Sheet

Halloween Silhouettes

Good morning all. I'm feeling generous today. This is for all you digital artist. I'm giving this away. Just for the taking. Click on the image and download to your computer. I hope it's not too late. But somehow I think there are a few procrastinators out there who might still want to use this in their art work.

I woke up this morning realizing it is a Holiday. It's Columbus Day! No wonder my husband has another week off. He gets 5 weeks of vacation each year . Not only is he working out of our home from now on,,,,,, he gets 5 weeks off! This is week number 4 so he still has another week to go! I think I'm going to slit my wrist! He is driving me crazy! The first two weeks of his now work out of the house office setup were ok because he was gone most of the time. But last week he was here all week. Now he is on vacation! Give me a break! please! Don't get me wrong I love my husband dearly but this is too much. I need my space.

The biggest problem so far is whenever he plays on his playstation 3 it knocks me off the internet. I don't know why! I guess since I am only wireless now, (ever since he took over my office.) His playstation is set up on the internet and is wireless also. I'm assuming his stupid game takes over and controls the internet therefore knocking my little ole computer off the net.

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful month of October. The weather is awesome. Fall is here and Halloween is just around the corner. This is the calm before the storm, because after Halloween everything gets crazy. The holiday season will be on us before we know it. I'd like to make most of my Christmas gifts this year. I always have these good intentions and it's a lot easier said then done. I need ideas. Most of all I need to get busy. Time is so precious. Where does it go?

Altered Art Journal Letter V

"Vintage Me"

The next page in my journal. Letter V for Vintage. I knew I was going to do vintage for v since the start of the this journal. I love the past. I especially love the 4o's, 50's or even the 60's. Anything retro and kitsch. The one thing missing on this page, which I love is a pink flamingo. I can't believe I forgot to put one on this page. Pink flamingo's are so me. Oh well.
I'm a collector as well. I love kitschy things, like the lady head planters and silly figurines. They do not have to be antique either. I don't go over board and I've sold more items then I now have in my collection. Oh and I adore all the old retro Christmas ornaments. They are so awesome. Pyrex is another passion. I use all of my old pyrex bowls. Vintage is definitely a big part of who I am.

Something Pink

I'll be posting something pink each Thursday during the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I got the idea from Sherry who got the idea from Christina at Soul Aperture.
This year was a tough year for me. I lost two friends to breast cancer this summer. They were both in their 50's. Much too young to go. My heart goes out to their families. My heart goes out to anyone who has had to deal with this nasty disease.
This is a small thing to do to get some awareness out. I hope you join in on the cause.

Be Your Own Superhero

My dear friend Sherry just launched her "Be Your Own Superhero" Zine. She did this to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on the link and it will take you to the site where you can buy the Zine yourself. It's a worthy cause.
I am actually one of the contributing artist....yes little ole me. I can not believe she asked me to do this. She asked me and some other artist to interpret through our own style of art what it means to be our own superhero.
Sherry is a breast cancer survivor and each year she does some sort of fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Pumpkinhead Scarecrow

"You Don't Scare Me"

This is what happens when I don't feel like watching tv in the evening. Sometimes I doodle and sometimes I work in Photoshop doing digital art. I was practicing my swirls and twirls doodles because I want to add more to my collection in ps when I got the urge to this Halloween scene. Don't judge me, lol, I know my art tends to be childish. I guess I'm a child at heart and Halloween brings it out in me. I don't seem to get the urge to do these drawing any other time. Ummm!
Not sure why.
This poor pumpkinhead scarecrow has some issues. She looks like a man scarecrow in a skirt. Poor thing. She can't seem to scare any of the birds away either. Who wears rubber rain boots with a skirt?
The colors did not come out right in the scan. Some of the yellow is really a lime green. Oh well you get the idea.

Birthday Celebrations

My birthday turned out fabulous. We celebrated at Maggiano's. Ate way too much food and drank way too much wine. We ordered family style so we got to try a huge variety of entrees off the menu. I have never eaten there before. It's a beautiful place and I love all the chandeliers.

Here are some of the lovely gifts I got for my birthday. A pink beach bag, Cakebread wine which is the best white wine I've ever had. I usually only drink reds, so this is saying something. I got this cute happy birthday wine glass, a necklace, and some gift cards to my favorite store....hobby lobby, a card to Barnes and nobles and a restaurant. I'm so blessed, what can I say! I wish all of you could have been there.

Happy Birthday To Me

Today is my birthday!
I'll be celebrating tonight, by having a nice Italian dinner with my family. For now I'm off to get my tootsies done. I'm treating myself to a pedicure. Have not had one in a while and the heels and toes look it. Maybe I'll even get some starbucks on the way. Today is Charlie Day so anything I want. Weeeeeee!
